Industry Beans' coffee guide
We were recommended the Fitzroy St blend to complement our magics which I immensely enjoyed. It was easily one of the better coffees I've had lately. I also liked the mugs they served our magics in; there's just something so 'Winter' and comforting about drinking a hot beverage in an oversized mug.
Magics (Fitzroy Street blend)
Mr A found his dish quite unremarkable - although the salmon and caramelised shallots were nice, the cornbread was incredibly dense and dry which detracted from the dish and made it quite difficult to finish once the sauce was gone. I only had a bite and couldn't eat the cornbread as it was too dry for my liking (although they're currently reworking the recipe for the cornbread which is good to hear!).
Cold Drip Cured Salmon & char grilled cornbread with cornichon vinaigrette, grapefruit & shallots ($16)
I'm always reluctant to order a sweet dish for breakfast as the sweetness usually overwhelms me by the third mouthful, but I have been looking to satisfy my perfect brioche French toast cravings. Although I have an ideal, probably unrealistic, concept of French toast being slightly crisp, I still enjoyed this light and buttery brioche version with the tartness from the blueberry playing nicely against the sweetness from the cold drip maple pearls and pure maple syrup.
Brioche French toast, cold drip coffee maple pearls, maple syrup, blueberry molasses & double whipped cream ($16)
Front counter goodies
All the wait staff were genuinely nice and helpful, offering to relocate us from the bar ledges to a table without us asking. I felt such a good vibe brimming from Industry Beans in all aspects. It was only a shame that Mr A's dish was a let down but their menu is enticing and I would love to come back and try out some of the dishes that caught my eye.
Will I return? Yes, the other dishes sound very tempting!
