The Lui Bar at Melbourne’s prime real estate in the skies is luxe, elegant and provides superior views of Melbourne’s skyline. Since opening in 2011, it has been at the top of my “to-go” list, although I find the location right smack bang in the middle of the city a bit awkward seeing as I drive to the city these days, and popping in for a quick drink isn’t really possible with the pain in the ass parking. You will need to consult the concierge at the ground floor just before the elevators and our arrival mid-afternoon proved that we had arrived just in time, snagging the last window view seat.
I was recently very honoured to be invited by Nespresso and Weber Shandwick to an industry event hosted at Vue de Monde. Yes, Vue de Monde! At the start of the night, waiters were circling the private function area with platters of entrees. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a photo however the entrees that were featured that night, some of which I have sampled on my previous experience here, were the smoked eel, oyster wrap, truffle marshmallow and salt cured wallaby.

I was royally spoilt for my birthday last year and was surprised by a lovely dinner at Vue de Monde (pre-relocation). Obviously since the relocation was in June 2011, this was a fair while ago. I’m only just getting back into my food blog so I’ll just leave you with the pictures of our experience.
